Where an Order in Council is made in respect of an organisation which is a specialised agency of the United Nations having its headquarters or principal office in the United Kingdom, then, for the purpose of giving effect to any agreement between the United Kingdom or its government and that organisation, the following exemptions, privileges and reliefs may be conferred to the extent specified in the order on officers of the organisation who are recognised as holding a rank equivalent to that of diplomatic agent1.
