Where, in pursuance of any arrangement for common defence to which the United Kingdom1 government is for the time being a party, any international headquarters or defence organisation has been or is about to be set up, an Order in Council may be made designating the headquarters or organisation and conferring upon it the legal capacity of a body corporate and, to the extent specified, immunity from legal process and the like privileges as respects the inviolability of official archives as are accorded to an envoy of a foreign power accredited to the United Kingdom
