150.     Exclusive economic zone boundaries.

Delimitation of the exclusive economic zone between states with opposite or adjacent coast must be effected by agreement on the basis of international law in order to achieve an equitable solution; and where there is already an agreement between the states concerned, questions of delimitation must be determined in accordance with its provisions1. Delimitation is subject to essentially the same principles as those established by case law in relation to delimitation of the continental shelf2.
