208.     Enforcement and offences.

A person guilty of an offence under Part II of the Antarctic Act 19941 is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, to a fine, or to both, and on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum2.

It is an offence to fail to produce a permit3 when duly required to do so4.

It is a defence to certain offences5 that the contravention occurred because of matters outside a person's control and that he took all reasonable precautions to avoid the contravention6. It is also
