Information held by a public authority1 or any specified2 person, for purposes specified in relation to that person3, may be supplied to the Secretary of State for use for immigration purposes4. A document or article which comes into the possession of, or is discovered by, a public authority or someone acting on behalf of a public authority may also be supplied to the Secretary of State for immigration purposes5. Information may be supplied under this provision6 for use for the purpose of determining whether applicants for British citizenship are of good character7.
