The entry or search of premises under a warrant1 is unlawful unless it complies with the following requirements2.
If an immigration officer applies for a warrant3, he must:
(1) state the ground on which he makes the application and the provision of the Immigration Act 1971 under which the warrant would be issued4;
(2) if the application is for a warrant authorising entry and search on more than one occasion, state the ground on which the officer applies for such a warrant and whether the officer seeks a warrant authorising an unlimited number of entries, or (if not) the maximum
