The Secretary of State1 may, for immigration purposes, by order make provision for records to be made and kept of persons staying at hotels2, and for persons who stay at any such premises to supply the necessary information3. In pursuance of this power the Secretary of State has ordered that every person aged 16 or over who stays4 at any hotel or other accommodation5 must on arrival inform the keeper6 of the premises of his full name and nationality7. Where the person is an alien he must on arrival also inform the keeper of the premises of the number
