The Secretary of State may issue a biometric immigration document1, known as a biometric residence permit, to a person who has applied2, provided the Secretary of State has decided to:
(1) grant limited leave to enter or remain to the person for a period which, together with any preceding period of leave to enter or remain, exceeds a cumulative total of six months' leave in the United Kingdom3;
(2) grant indefinite leave to enter or remain to the person4; or
(3) issue or replace a document to the person following a specified application5 where the document indicated that the
