An illegal working closure notice is a notice which prohibits, for a period specified in the notice1, access to premises2 other than by a person who habitually lives on the premises, and paid or voluntary work being performed on the premises, in both cases except where authorised in writing by an immigration officer3. Where an immigration officer of at least the rank of chief immigration officer4 is satisfied on reasonable grounds that an employer operating at a premises is employing an illegal worker5 and has, or a connected person in relation to the employer6 has:
