291.     Helping an asylum seeker to enter the United Kingdom.

A person commits an offence if:

  1.  

    (1)     he knowingly and for gain facilitates the arrival, or attempted arrival in, or the entry or attempted entry into, the United Kingdom of an individual1; and

  2.  

    (2)     he knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the individual is an asylum seeker2.

This applies to things done whether inside or outside the United Kingdom3, but it does not apply to anything done by a person acting on behalf of an organisation which aims to
