Although the rules regarding the specified evidence for meeting the minimum income threshold1 are prescriptive, and the decision maker2 has no discretion as to the minimum income requirements3, some flexibility in relation to errors or omissions in the documents provided is permitted4:
(1) as a rule, in considering the application the decision maker will only consider the documents submitted with the application5;
(2) in limited circumstances where a specified document is missing, the decision maker may contact the applicant and request that document6;
