The Secretary of State may by order make provision for the purpose of giving effect to an international agreement which concerns immigration control1 at an EEA port (whether or not it also concerns other aspects of frontier control at the port)2. In exercise of this power provision has been made for empowering the United Kingdom immigration authorities to exercise immigration control in certain French sea ports, and for the French authorities to exercise immigration control in certain United Kingdom sea ports3. Within each port there are established control zones within which the immigration authorities of each state are empowered
