Consequent to the UK's withdrawal from the EU, this Halsbury paragraph should be read in conjunction with the Immigration (European Economic Area Nationals) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, SI 2019/468; and the Immigration and Social Security Co-ordination (EU Withdrawal) Act 2020 (Consequential, Saving, Transitional and Transitory Provisions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, SI 2020/1309, pending incorporation of the changes into the text.

A person who is not an exempt person1 has a derivative right to reside during any period in which he satisfies one or more of the following conditions2:
