The Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) Rules 20141 apply to proceedings before the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal2 and have effect as if they are Tribunal Procedure Rules3.
Subject to the Tribunal Procedure Rules4, the First-tier Tribunal may decide the procedure to be followed in relation to any appeal5. The overriding objective is to enable the Tribunal to deal with cases fairly and justly6. The Tribunal must seek to give effect to the overriding objective when it exercises any power under the Tribunal Procedure Rules or interprets any rule or practice direction
