An immigration officer may authorise a person to be a person who, by virtue of being in a specified category of persons under the Immigration Rules, may obtain leave to enter the United Kingdom1 by passing through an automated gate2. The categories of person who may benefit from such authorisation are:
(1) a visitor (standard)3;
(2) a transit visitor4; and
(3) a parent of a Tier 4 (child) student5;
and where a person passes through an automated gate having been so authorised6 he will be given leave to enter the United Kingdom for six months if falling within head (1)
