As from 1 December 20131, the requirements for those seeking to enter or remain in the United Kingdom2 as a member of the armed forces, civilian employees or their family members were set out in an appendix to the Immigration Rules3 which applies to:
(1) a foreign or Commonwealth member of HM Forces (on discharge)4;
(2) a partner5 or child of a member of HM Forces6;
(3) a partner, child or other dependant7 of a member of non-HM Forces who is exempt from immigration control8;
(4) a member of non-HM Forces9 who is not exempt from immigration control10;
