The following provisions have effect from IP completion day.
Type-examination is the procedure by which an approved body1 ascertains and certifies that a representative model of specified2 types of machinery3 satisfies the provisions of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 20084. The responsible person5 must, for each type of machinery ('type'), draw up the technical file6. For each type, the application for a Type-examination must be submitted by the responsible person to a approved body chosen by the responsible person7. The applicant must also place at the disposal of the approved body a sample of the type8.
