497.     Safety requirements for machinery: after exit from EU.

Consequent to the UK's withdrawal from the EU, this Halsbury paragraph should be read in conjunction with the Product Safety and Metrology etc (Amendment etc) (UK(NI) Indication) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, SI 2020/1460, pending incorporation of the changes into the text.

The following provisions have effect from IP completion day.

No person who is a responsible person1 for the purposes of the relevant regulations2 may place machinery3 on the market4 or put it into service5 unless it is safe6.

The regulations apply to machinery of the following categories7:
