If a young person or child1 is employed at a mine2 in contravention of the statutory provisions3, his parent4 as well as any other person who may be liable5 is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 1 on the standard scale, unless it appears to the court that the contravention occurred without the consent, connivance or wilful default of the parent
