A well operator1 must ensure that no well operation2 is commenced:
(1) for the purposes of the Offshore Installations (Safety Case) Regulations 2005:
(a) unless he has sent a notification3 containing the specified particulars4 to the Health and Safety Executive5 at least 21 days (or such shorter period as the Executive may specify) before commencing that operation6
(b) in the case of a production installation7 a well operator must ensure that:
(i) no well operation which involves insertion of a hollow pipe in the
