A user1 must not use premises2 for contained use3 unless the premises have been notified to the competent authority4 in accordance with the following provisions5.
Before premises are used for contained use for the first time, a person responsible for the contained use6 must submit a notification to the competent authority containing the specified information7 and must have received an acknowledgment of receipt of the notification from the Health and Safety Executive8. A single notification may include more than one premises9. In such a case, the notifier10 must nominate one address which is to be the principal address for the purposes of a notification11.
The Executive must send an acknowledgment of receipt to the notifier within ten working days1
