611. Monitoring exposure to hazardous substances at the workplace and health surveillance.

Where the risk assessment1 indicates that:


    (1)     it is requisite for ensuring the maintenance of adequate control of the exposure of employees2 to substances hazardous to health3; or


    (2)     it is otherwise requisite for protecting the health of employees,

the employer must ensure that the exposure of employees to substances hazardous to health is monitored in accordance with a suitable procedure4. This does not, however, apply where the employer is able to demonstrate by another method of evaluation that the statutory requirements5 have been complied with6.
