The compressed air contractor1 must ensure that adequate information, instruction and training has been given to any person who works in compressed air so that he is aware of the risks arising from such work and the precautions which should be observed2. He must also ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable3, that every person who works in compressed air is under adequate medical surveillance and works only in accordance with the conditions, if any, specified in his health record4; and notwithstanding this requirement, he must ensure that no person works in compressed air where the compressed air contractor
