527. Enforcement in regard to simple pressure vessels.

In Great Britain1, the market surveillance authority in relation to vessels2 for use in the workplace is the Health and Safety Executive3. In so far as the Simple Pressure Vessels (Safety) Regulations 20164 apply to vessels intended exclusively or primarily for use on relevant nuclear sites5, the market surveillance authority is the Office for Nuclear Regulation6.

The Simple Pressure Vessels (Safety) Regulations 2016 and RAMS7 (in its application to vessels) must be enforced by the market surveillance authority8; but the Secretary of State, or a person appointed by the Secretary of State to act on behalf of the Secretary of State, may enforce those regulations and RAMS (in its application to vessels)9.
