The following provisions have effect until IP completion day.
EC type-examination is the procedure by which a notified body1 ascertains and certifies that a representative model of specified2 types of machinery3 satisfies the provisions of the Machinery Directive4. The responsible person5 must, for each type of machinery ('type'), draw up the technical file6. For each type, the application for an EC type-examination must be submitted by the responsible person to a notified body chosen by the responsible person7. The applicant must also place at the disposal of the notified body a sample of the type8.
