549. Conformity assessment for to products for use in explosive atmospheres.

A product1 which is in conformity with a harmonised standard2 (or part of such a standard) the reference to which has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, is presumed to be in conformity with the essential health and safety requirements3 covered by that standard (or that part of that standard)4. The presumption is rebuttable5.

Detailed requirements are laid down for the assessment of conformity of equipment, protective systems and components6. The manufacturer7 must ensure that the documents and correspondence relating to the conformity assessment procedures are in the language determined by the EEA state in which
