317. The Land Registry's early completion policy.

An application for a discharge of a whole charge is considered by the Land Registry1 to be substantially defective and will be rejected if evidence of satisfaction of the charge is not lodged either with or in advance of the application2.

Where such a defective application is made with other applications (for example, the registration of a transfer of the whole and a new charge), those applications will be completed, provided they are in order, and the defective discharge application rejected.
