The buyer's solicitor must make an application to the Land Registry1 to register the buyer's title2. Applications may be made by post but are more commonly submitted via the Land Registry's electronic document registration service (e-DRS)3. Failure to make an application for first registration within two months of completion results in the transfer of the legal estate becoming void and may lead to the buyer's title becoming subject to interests from which it would otherwise take free4. Failure to make an application for a registration of a transfer or other disposition within the priority period5 of 30 business days
