13. Provision of conveyancing services.

Traditionally conveyancing services have been provided by solicitors1, but such services may now also be provided by licensed conveyancers2 or certain registered European lawyers3.

It is an offence, subject to certain exceptions, for unqualified persons to prepare any instrument of transfer or charge for the purposes of the Land Registration Act 2002, to make an application or lodge a document for registration under that Act; or to prepare any other instrument relating to real or personal estate for the purposes of the law of England and Wales or an instrument relating to court proceedings in England and Wales
