Pre-contract enquiries of the seller are usually raised on a standard form. All the major law stationery suppliers publish a form of pre-contract enquiries the contents of which are broadly similar. In Protocol cases1 the relevant TransAction forms must be used2. In commercial cases the Commercial Property Standard Enquiries are normally used3. In leasehold transactions, the Leasehold Property Enquiries Form may be used to obtain information from landlords, management companies and managing agents4. Enquiries which are not relevant to the transaction in hand should be deleted from the standard form before submission to the seller's solicitor and additional enquiries
