An application for official copies of the title (in the case of registered land only) can be made1 on line2 or by post, through an agent or an electronic search provider. A personal search facility is available subject to limitations and on prior appointment only3. A fee is payable for the search4.
The search result will provide up-to-date copies of the current registered proprietor's title. The search is usually made by the seller's solicitor who will need the information contained in the copies in order to draft the contract for sale and to supply a copy of the entries to
