Where the lease will need to be registered with its own title following completion1 the Land Registry requires the lease to be in a specified form; this is called a 'prescribed clauses' lease because the Land Registry prescribes certain clauses and wording2 to be included at the start of a new lease3.
In outline the matters to be included in a prescribed clauses lease are4:
(1) LR1 Date of lease;
(2) LR2 Title numbers:
(a) LR2.1 Landlord's title numbers;
(b) LR2.2 Other title numbers: here it is necessary to insert any existing title numbers against which entries of matters referred
