A lease is normally prepared in two parts, lease and counterpart. The former is signed by the landlord and handed to the tenant on completion, the latter by the tenant and handed to the landlord on completion1.
If the contract so provides, the tenant may be required on completion to pay a fee to the landlord for the preparation of the engrossment. By the Standard Contractual Conditions
