266. Electronic discharge; electronic submission of discharge.

An electronic discharge (ED) is an electronic message from a lender authorising the discharge of a registered charge1. The ED system enables mortgage lenders to discharge mortgages electronically using a direct link to the Land Registry's computer system2.
