On completion of the post-completion formalities, the deeds and any other relevant documents should normally be sent to the lender for safe custody. The lender's requirements should be checked to ascertain the precise requirements of the lender in relation to the safe custody of documents1.
The documents to be sent should be listed in triplicate, one copy of the list being retained on the solicitor's file and the remaining two being sent to the lender with the documents, with a request that one copy of the list is signed by the lender and returned to the solicitor as an acknowledgement
