6. Confirmation of instructions in writing.

Instructions should be recorded on the file in writing and confirmed with the client in writing1. Where instructions have been received indirectly through a third party, such as an estate agent, they must be confirmed in writing directly with the client. Where instructions are given by one only of co-sellers or buyers they must be confirmed directly with the other co-seller(s) or buyer(s). Further communications or instructions may be conducted through one only of the co-sellers or buyers provided that the remaining co-seller(s) or buyer(s) give authority to do so.
