Where completion does not take place on a date when outgoings on the property fall due, outgoings which attach to the land may be apportioned between the parties on completion, the calculations of the apportioned sums being shown on the completion statement1.
Where applicable, rent and service charge payments may have to be apportioned. The Standard Contractual Conditions2 deal with apportionments and allow for a provisional apportionment to be made where exact figures are not available at completion (for example, in respect of service charges).
