558. Requisites for the right to general average contribution.

To give rise to a general average contribution, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

(1)     the interest claiming contribution and the interest from which contribution is claimed must have been exposed to a common danger1, there being no contribution if the latter interest was never in jeopardy2, or had been placed in safety before the danger arose3;
