A voyage charterparty may give the charterer an option to ship various kinds of cargo1, which may be described as, for example, 'wheat and/or seed and/or grain'2. In this case the cargo tendered may be composed of one or more of the specified kinds3. Where the loading of one kind of cargo becomes impossible, the charterer may or may not be obliged to load one of the alternative cargoes, depending on the wording of the clause
