The periods of limitation of actions1 for damages based on the liability of the carrier2 under the CIV Rules3 in the case of death of, or personal injury to, passengers are:
(1) three years from the day after the accident (in the case of a passenger)4; and
(2) three years from the day after the death of the passenger, subject to a maximum of five years from the day after the accident (in the case of other persons entitled)5,
and the period of limitation for other actions arising from the contract of carriage under the CIV Rules is one year,
