589. Liability for valuables.

Pursuant to the Athens Convention as amended by the 2002 Protocol1, the carrier2 is not liable for the loss of or damage to moneys, negotiable securities, gold, silverware, jewellery, ornaments, works of art or other valuables, except where such valuables have been deposited with the carrier for the agreed purpose of safe-keeping in which case the carrier is liable up to the specified limit
