A person carrying on the business of a carrier or warehouseman or the employee of such a person may have in his possession in the course of that business a firearm or ammunition without holding a firearm certificate1 or shotgun certificate2 which would otherwise be required3. Such a person commits an offence if he fails either to take reasonable precautions for the safe custody of any firearm or ammunition which he has in his possession, or to report the loss of any such firearm or ammunition to the police forthwith
