In calculating the balance of the freight to be paid on the completion of the voyage, the advance freight already paid must be taken into account1. If a portion of the goods is lost on the voyage, the advance freight is not to be treated as apportionable over the whole, including that portion which is lost, but as a payment on account of such freight as, in the circumstances, is shown to have been in fact earned
