331. Customary dispatch.

Very occasionally, instead of fixing a definite period for loading or unloading, the charterparty may provide merely that the cargo is to be loaded and discharged with customary dispatch.

The effect of this term is that the charterer has a reasonable time within which to perform his obligation of loading¹ or discharge². In considering what is a reasonable time, the actual circumstances of the particular case must be taken into consideration
