For the purposes of the CMR Convention1 the contract of carriage must be confirmed by the making out of a consignment note2 in triplicate, signed3 by the sender and the carrier4. The sender and the carrier are entitled, respectively, to the first and third copies of the consignment note, and the second copy must accompany the goods5. If the goods have to be loaded in different vehicles, or are of different kinds or are divided into different lots, either party has the right to require a separate consignment note to be made out in respect of each vehicle, or
