692. Carriers against whom actions may be brought.

An action1 under the CIV Rules2 based on the liability of the carrier3 in case of death of, or personal injury to, passengers may only be brought against the carrier who is4 liable5, while actions under either the CIV Rules or the CIM Rules6 based on the contract of carriage may be brought only against the first carrier, the last carrier or the carrier having performed the part of carriage on which the event giving rise to the proceedings occurred7.
