87. Carriage by a person other than the contracting carrier.

If an actual carrier1 performs the whole or part of carriage which according to the contract2 made by the contracting carrier is governed by the Montreal Convention, both the contracting carrier and the actual carrier will be subject to the rules of the Convention, the former for the whole of the carriage contemplated in the contract, the latter solely for the carriage which it performs3.
