Where a public body1 is satisfied that any work specified in a public body's notice2 given by it has been completed, the body may give to the local authority3 such certificate with respect to the completion of the work and compliance with building regulations4 as may be prescribed5 (a 'public body's final certificate')6. A public body's final certificate may relate either to the whole or to part only of the work specified in the public body's notice concerned7, and does not have effect unless it is accepted by the local authority to whom it is given8.
