The Building Regulations Advisory Committee for England and the Building Regulations Advisory Committee for Wales currently advise the Secretary of State or as the case may be, the Welsh Ministers1 on the exercise of its power to make building regulations 2, and on other subjects connected with building regulations3. Before making any building regulations containing substantive requirements4, the Secretary of State or the Welsh Ministers must consult the Building Regulations Advisory Committee for England or as the case may be, the Building Regulations Advisory Committee for Wales and such other bodies as appear to be representative of the interests
