A notice, order, consent, demand or other document that a local authority1 is authorised or required by or under the Building Act 1984 to give, make or issue may be signed on behalf of the authority:
(1) by the proper officer2 of the authority3, as respects documents relating to matters within his province4; or
(2) by an officer5 of the authority authorised by it in writing to sign documents of the particular kind or, as the case may be, the particular document6.
